
The islands of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago emerged in the Caribbean Sea, as one of the most beautiful and natural areas in Panama. By air or land you can travel from the capital to these wonderful islands, overflowing with unexplored nature. The archipelago is made up by several main islands like: Isla Colón, Isla Popa, Isla Bastimentos, Isla Cristóbal, Cayo de Agua and Cayo Carenero.
The islands are surrounded in cristal clear waters all year around with excellent visibility and abundant marine fauna. They stand out for its enormous and extensive coral reefs, considered the most spectacular of all of Panama´s Atlantic coast and home to hundreds of fish species and other underwater creatures. The first and important Bastimentos Marine Park is found in this area.

You can observe fish banks, associated to coral reefs, shrimp, parrots, crabs, sea star, clams, sea horse, as well as other species like red snappers, tunas, wahoo barracudas and may find dolphins.
Fishing techniques:
Fishing with harpoon and snorkelling are some of the main activities in the area. You can use techniques trolly when fishing offshore.
