The San Blas islands emerged in Panama´s Caribbean region as a chain of coral islands. It is a famous archipelago also known as the Kuna Yala Region. It is made up of 365 islets and it is recognized as one of the most popular ecotourism destinations of the Central American and Caribbean area with lots of beach and fishing.
In short flight from Panama City you can travel back in time towards the San Blas islands. There are no trips on land. The round trip flights are made in the morning hours so you must be ready to lodge on the islands. Some of these islands have single hotels or you can rent a home. Lodging generally includes traditional food made by the Kunas, mainly inhabitants on these islands who preserve and guard very closely its nature.
The islands of the archipelago are naturally beautiful and peaceful. They have been formed by an accumulation of coral and are covered by palm trees found in gorgeous waters, there are no wild animals and the tropical climate is perfect.
The islands has the peculiarity of offering excellent beaches and white sand, where you can swim, practice snorkeling, kayac, or fish. The coral reefs are gardens in a multitude of colores and forms which few people have the previledge of seeing. The path for walkers found in the exuberant tropical forests are a popular attraction.
The islands or towns most visited are: Narganá, Corazón de Jesús, Wichuwala, Ailigandí, Iskardup, Nalunanega or Isla del Pargo. To travel to other islands you need an authorization of the indigenous chief and lodging is limited.
