The Bocas del Toro Archipelago was blessed with extraordinary natural values. By air or land you can travel from the capital to these wonderful island.
In several parts of the region you can find the Bastimentos Marine National Park, a natural reserve of incredible marine and land richness with lots of beaches. The archipelago is an ideal refuge for nature lovers, divers and surfers and will find several of the most popular spots in Panama.
The spots in Bastimentos Island are less visited due to its difficult access, among them: Silver Backs and First Beach. They are most accessable travelling on a vessel from Bocas and later a 15 minute walk from the dock area through the National Park of Bastimentos Island.
The Silver Backs breaker coral reefs can hold Hawaiian style waves of up to 4 meters, a big drop followed by a short swirl. In First Beach you will find coral reef and beach breakers with waves that reach from 4 to 6 feet high.
